In Place of Convalescence was originally choreographed in 2023 at Indiana University as a part of the annual Contemporary Dance BFA’s Junior Choreographic Performance Project (JCPP). Making its debut at the 2023 showcase, entitled “Afterimages,” the work was then set on two members of the Fort Wayne Dance Collective’s Touring Company, Corinne Hobbs and Rachel Jones.

In spring 2024, In Place of Convalescence was selected to perform at the Detroit Dance City Festival’s on the Rivera Court Stage. The work was performed on September 6, 2024 at the Detroit Institute of Art by dancers Corinne Hobbs and Rachel Jones.
